Check the disc first
Open the disc menu and confirm that the language is listed. Not every release includes the same tracks in every region.
Check the player
Use the player’s subtitle selector after playback begins. If two subtitle controls exist, one may belong to the disc menu and the other to the software.
External subtitle files
For supported file playback, confirm that the subtitle filename and format match the media. That workflow can differ from playing a physical disc.
If text is present but unreadable
Reset font size, color, position, and display scaling before reinstalling the player.
